It's everywhere I go now
Everywhere! Exactly everywhere. Mediocrity is everywhere I go now. I see mentally disabled douchebags everywhere!
A few days ago I told your about the mediocre blogosphere and the generation (in general) I'm a part of. I tried to focus on the cultural and cognitive shortcomings (surprise surprise!). I see so many funny things each day, and that's one good reason why I still have this blog.
Another valid (in my opinion...) reason is the number of readers. I keep track of all readers and I can basically see where you're all sitting, what OS you have and what browser you use (HA!).
But please don't get this wrong, this is what I want. I want something that is interesting for people, and by judging the number of visitors I can easily conclude that there does exist some kind of interest. Keep coming! I am currently investigating other platforms for my blog and I've already exported the contents of this blog to a test version on another server. I am still not sure if I should complete the move or if I should stay at blogger. It depends on what benefits and disadvantages each platform has respectively.
Today I have chosen to appear before you with the following story:
I was taking a walk with my brother through a neighbourhood close to his old daycare center (which was burnt down by some pyromaniac by the way). This neighbourhood is something average, nothing special but nothing bad either. But each time I walk through it I meet really strange people. A few years ago we were chased out of there because the dickheads wanted to have a sip from my bottle of coke. I told them no and that did not please them. Today I saw some stupid teenagers who barely can afford their own bus tickets. They were hassling a guy with one of these.

Douchebag no 1 went up to the owner and asked him how much he had paid for the car with a very rude tone.
The owner replied quite diplomatically that he had switched his old car for this new one and that he had no clue what the price of his new car was.
Douchebag no 2 steps in and shouts that he wants to buy the car.
Note that this asshole is wearing at least 3 years old sneakers. On top of that he was wearing a jogging suite (these asswipes will probably wear jogging suits on their wedding days and when they lie in their coffins). This son of a bitch was talking as if he could afford that car, and the tragic part is that this moron is not even 18. I would like to see him step into the local BMW dealer's office with those clothe...
They're in their first year of high school. Those of them who actually have cars (some of the cars I've seen: a 16 years old Volkswagen Jetta and an old Peugeot 19 with nasty "pimp my ride" ambitions) are terrible drivers. They drive as if they were "suicide drivers", with a mission to kill as many as possible on the roads. I keep asking myself why.
Now back to the story, the driver (or owner, whatever....) ignores their desperate attempts to play high, and that triggers them off. They started shouting F-words for 10-15 seconds. Both had noticed me and my younger brother before all of this, but they weren't ashamed anyhow. I guess it's amusing in a way to see how these primitive morons embarrass themselves in public. I am usually not someone with a lot of gloat inside, but incidents like this one make me laugh. It's always a blast to see how some people always try to prove something impossible to the world with cocky attitudes, and to see them embarrass themselves by revealing their own ignorance, stupidity and mental poverty.

Alarming news: The mediocre blogosphere is growing!
What will I leave this world to remember me by? Hopefully more than a blog, hopefully more than a membership on Facebook, hopefully more than some articles, chronicles and interviews at PFDC.
This blog has become something different from what I thought it would. I update it every now and then when I feel that I have something to say, and yes, I am aware of the fact that some might dislike the content of this blog (fuck off please ;)) and that the posts are angled. Get used to it. This is my house and my rules.
Anyway, I know that this blogthing has become something for everyone. That is good in a way, everyone should be able to express themselves (as long as nobody is being offended in the process). But lately I have been discovering more and more mediocre blog-attempts by a new generation of high school kids/dropouts. Stories containing
... we have a long way to go.

Support staff misery
Summer is here and as usual, trouble with the computer as well. This time it isn't as dramatic as before. No bluescreens *knocking on wood* and no overheated hardware issues. This time the pimpy lamps on the front of the computer are out of order. The graphic card is can't handle things it once used to handle and the fan sounds like a nuclear reactor.
The miserable support-staff (which I never had any problems with in the past) have set up some new rules regarding pickups and repairs. They won't register my problem until I reboot the computer from scratch and remove all software. Asswipes. I did that last year but they managed to fuck my fan, my lamps and my graphic card during their last attempt to fix the computer (I have to be honest here, they succeeded, but on the other hand other problems popped up as a result of that). I rebooted the computer last year but the problem remained. What makes it different this year?
So what to do? Well, obviously I have to reboot it. That's not the major issue here. The problem is that once she is back, I have to spend days to get her back to what she was. Customizing firewall rules and settings, updating the platforms and saving all e-mails and documents on different external drives. This is going to take a lot of time and is completely useless. When I told the guy on the other end of the line about my problem he understood what I meant, I know I am right on this. THIS IS NOT SOFTWARE RELATED, IT'S HARDWARE RELATED.
The interview on Monday worked out perfectly fine. I got the chance to speak to some former (and current) Swedish internationals as well as shooting some nice pics. The interview will hopefully be published later today or during the week.
My 2 cents for today. Thank you for reading.

Fuck
Yesterday was supposed to be a great day to remember. One of those days you look back at in the future and remember with joy.
Disappointment, high expectations, anti-climax and a great deal of bad luck. That's my Saturday in a nutshell.
It began with preparations for the annual ELINpiad games where me and some friens from the board were participating. We were all dressed in an olympic theme. There were hundreds of students there with funny clothes, and some great music was being played by a DJ. That's when it happened. I had just entered the first heat of the competition when I tripped, fell from 1-2 metres and landed on my shoulder. BANG. I tried to get up because I couldn't feel any pain. I was ahead of my competitor and I was determined not to lose. That's when I realized that something was very wrong inside my arm. I couldn't get up and I felt a massive pain stretching from my neck down to my fingertops. My friends helped me out of the maze and got me on a chair. It didn't take long for me to realize that I had to visit the hospital. I don't remember much from the transport, only that I was in great pain and there was absolutely nothing I could do to relieve it. After several shots, liquid pain killers, X-rays and anesthetic (which led to a black hole in my memory) it became evident to the doctors that my right arm was dislocated. It's a nasty experience, and it's harder to deal with because I'm right handed. I am typing this post with my left hand only.
I had really high hopes for yesterday. We were going to a party in the evening with dinner and lots of funny activities. I had chosen my suit, my shirt and my tie. I had put the suit on my bed and I was really looking forward for that party.
Yesterday was a great contrast to how I had it exactly one year back in time. I was to perform my first show with the theater and it was a mighty experience, to finally perform what I had been practising for the prior 8-9 months. Some of my closest friends attended the show and we went out for a drink afterwards. I still remember how they laughed the first time I entered the stage...
Yesterday (again, I know...) was to be something just like last year's 5th of May. Something special.
I am really down right now.

Longer days and shorter nights
It's been a long day filled with numbers, equations, endless computations and too little coffee! I spent 11 hours at campus today, trying to finish a project. I failed but it's OK. I can turn it in tomorrow instead and still make it. I sleep less and work more, hence the title of today's post.
As I was working with a friend I was amazed to see the many different posters/art collections the weirdos at the art department have put up lately. The place is starting to look more like a daycare center instead of a governmental institution for higher education.
Don't get me wrong, I have absolutely nothing against art. My cousin is an artist and she is exceptionally talented. But what the fuck is this?

It irritates me to see how resources are invested in order to provide bohemians with professional (and extremely expensive) environments/equipment. And then what? I still haven't seen a new Pablo Picasso or Dali.
It's hilarious to see some of the artists behind these masterpieces. Some of them act really strange and naturally, that adds to my general prejudice of them. I mean it's so sexy to dress as a 4-year old when you're 25+. I am normally not too interested and engaged in how people dress. I couldn't care less. What I do care about though is how people pay (or actually don't pay) others respect by dressing "properly". I mean you don't dress in hot pants (as a lady of course) when you are to attend a funeral. I know that "properly" is a subjective term and i don't wish to define it any further. But I get annoyed when I see grown up people acting like morons, dressed up as if they were to attend a masquerade, just in order to attract attention and to provoke the common/general establishments of dress codes in professional environments.
And no, I don't mean that everyone should show up in Lyle & Scott sweaters tomorrow morning. But please, grow up, open your eyes and stop making ugly pieces of art.

Some kind of anticlimax... or something
After 5 long months of waiting and dreaming the day I had anticipated for so long finally came. Unfortunately things didn't turn out as I had wished. But hell, that's nothing new, is it ^^?
Anyway, I had been waiting for the premier game of the Swedish football league since the 5th of November (see the specific post from that date). For as long as I can remember (10 years), the spring has never arrived earlier than this year. I remember that the 6th of April 2003 was a day of extreme winter and endless piles of snow. I walked through the streets of Stockholm with my winterboots and I was freezing my ass off. So this year I had a really good reason for longing for the premier game. As we all know, football is best played on green pitches with the sun in the sky, and I was more or less sure that the game would take place in these conditions.
This is what I saw when I looked out the window of my old room when I woke up on the morning of the matchday.

What the fuck? My brother was dancing of joy and I was cursing all weather Gods for this terrible view. My dad had changed from winter- to summer tires, and I started to picture myself on a fully loaded train with drunk hooligans already.
Anyway, I was lucky to see that the snow gradually disappeared as the hours ticked away. I headed for the stadium where I was to meet 2 of my old friends. We had lunch and and went directly to the notorious north stand of RĂ¥sunda stadium.

Don't get me wrong. We never intended to watch the game with the fanatics of Black Army, we were heading for the upper parts of the stand where sophisticated people attend the games. Alright, not everyone is sophisticated up there. Some asshole kicked 3 chairs loose during the game when AIK missed an opportunity to score or when the referee misjudged different situations in the game. We also found 2 teenager lovers with tongues as long as my arms. They weren't there for the game as far as I could see. The lowlives were making out constantly (while standing up and blocking my view every other minute). It was somehow relieving to see that Firman Boys turned up at their traditional section of the east stand. There's no giving up from those guys.

The view was great from our seats and I am already counting the days to my next visit!

So what about the game? Well, AIK lost to the great wall of Kalmar. They did a great job in killing the game with boring and destructive football. I guess they earned their points because our players sucked anyway.
This was a little about my weekend which all in all was OK. I spent one night at the club with some friends (thank you for that pleasant evening) and I spent a few hours with Dalia in order to convince her of my crazy and odd talents.
Other than that I've been cracking the books most of the time and right now I'm really fed up with it. I need summer and I need some time off from this and from everyone else.
