Opium

I just came across this clip. It's a little boy smoking opium (probably to numb the sense of hunger). This clip almost made me cry.

Opium is smoked by the poor. This little boy was given the opium by his fuck of a father (who probably was stoned at the same time). This ruined my day.

METALLICA

2 nights ago a friend of mine approached me and asked me if I wanted to join him and a few others the coming day when Metallica came to town. I had no ticket and I never managed to get one when they were released. It's fucking mayhem each time and this time was no exception. Anyway, they happened to have one surplus ticket due to a late decline from one of their friends. I didn't actually have to think before I answered, I knew I wanted to go but I had to be sure it was green. I had planned to go and see Porcupine Tree with a friend in Gothenburg, but we didn't think that it would be worthwhile to go so far, so I eventually accepted the invite to go and see Metallica. I was aware of the fact that strange people usually attend these events and it was confirmed when we got there. It's always a blast to see how some behave and dress like.

Anyway, Metallica bottomed me out pretty bad and it was fucking great. I had never seen them live before. I have many bootleg albums and concerts but it's a completely different thing to see them live. The setlist was absolutely great. Some surprises were included and it was really great to see some variety in their choice of songs. "The Unforgiven", "No Leaf Clover" and "Disposable Heroes" are as far as I know not played very often when they are on tour. "The Unforgiven" was special and "Nothing Else Matters" as well. They didn't play too many new songs, actually none from the latest album ST ANGER (amen for that).

Thank you for last night's show!

Hetfield live on one of 3 big screens

Hetfield, playing "The Unforgiven" on an acoustic guitar. One of the best songs of the evening in my opinion.

Close-up on Hetfield

An hour or something before the show.

The number of people in the stadium is increasing.

This punk was running around, dancing, making funny moves and shouting out nonsense. I couldn't resist to take a shot of him :D.

Many fans from all over Sweden were there to see the posterboys of Rock n' Roll.

Updates from Camp Baghdad

I'll be off to the physiotherapist in an hour or something. That guy has more or less saved my summer. I shall recommend all friends with (God forbid... wtf I'm not even religious...) future injuries to visit this guy.

Roger Federer won the Wimbledon trophy once again. It was an extremely even game 2 days ago and I enjoyed it. I was rooting for him all the time, although I believe that Nadal deserved to win as much as Federer. I was told by several friends during my last year in high school that I look very like Roger Federer, and from there I started to follow his game. Nadal's time will come, it's amazing to see that guy play.

I was out last night with a friend at a bar, we were watching AIK playing like lost champions against defending champions Elfsborg (damn I really hate that name). First of all, let me just say that Elfsborg probably has the ugliest jersey in Sweden (if not Europe). Too many sponsorship ads and names combined with a nasty design. Umbro screwed up!
AIK lost 0-1 and my old hero Stefan Ishizaki (now playing in Elfsborg) scored the winning goal.
2007, the year that never existed.... that prophecy is proving to be true...

The AFC Asian cup 2007 adventure begins for Iran tomorrow. Uzbekistan is our first opponent and I am hopeful to see my team win with at least a goal difference of 3 goals. Australia faced Oman (if I'm not completely mistaking) a few days ago and they drew. Oman should have won but the Aussies levelled the score in the last minutes of the game. I am really hoping to see a decent performance tomorrow. No more losses against teams like Bahrain or China.

Kaebi joins Leicester

Rumour had it that the guy was joining Arsenal a few years back. He didn't do that, but today he signed with Leicester instead. Not a fancy move as one to Arsenal, but still very good.

ARGENTINA

+

= GLORY!

I spent another day in paradise today. After almost three months away from home I revisited the holy ground of Råsunda. It has not been a good season so far and I have no high hopes anymore. I just hope the team can advance in the table from this point onward. The first step was taken today and 2 new players from Argentina played their first game ever; Lucas Waldemarin and Mauro Ivan Obolo. The latter scored the first goal of the game and assisted the second goal. Finally we have found some class players with a license to score!

It felt good to be back at Råsunda and to see the team win again. It was a while ago they did so and I really hope things will become better from now on. We deserve it.

I was at the physio's earlier today and I'm making progress. Strength is returning but unfortunately I still have no sense in my upper right arm. I don't know when it'll come back but hopefully in a few months. I still have a lot of work to do with the physiotherapy. The fucking injury is a nasty one. I'm sure there are worse injuries around, but this one is really busting my balls. I can't do much because of it, nothing too demanding that is. I was looking forward to tennis, basketball, football and a lot of swimming this summer but those are just "no go's". I can't even run, that's how fucking bad it is. It really hurts inside my arm when I run. The bone isn't steady inside there yet and the muscle was obviously stretched pretty bad. I am determined to return to my full strength and to get back in shape. I am sick of not being able to do what I love to do. I had to turn a more or less free trip down to the French Riviera because of this injury, and believe me that hurts!

The rest of this week has the potential to turn out to something good. A possible concert, a big party at a friend's place and live football on TV are listed. The weather is said to be fucked up so I guess the concert is something I might have to forget about. We'll have to wait and see. Stay tuned for more updates and images from Life in Sweden.

I thought I hated cats

I have always had a strange feeling for cats. I don't really know why, but I have always regarded them as freeloaders. At the same time I have no problem with dogs, I actually like 'em. You can't really compare cats with dogs. Dogs show love, loyalty and friendship. But Cats? I actually lived in a home where there also was a cat. It was the fall of 2006, and I was renting a room in an apartment temporarily while I was looking for my own crib. That fucking piece of shit was the most disgusting and aggressive asshole I had ever encountered in my life. He loved to piss in the hallway because "he wants to mark his territory". He was too miserable to take a dump where he was supposed to do it, in a fucking box. This wasn't some kitten, the son of a bitch was more than a year old! Note that the owner was cool with this. She didn't clean up after him, maybe if I would hint that it smelled like fuck in the apartment and that some friends of mine were coming over for a beer. Otherwise she wouldn't really bother.

I spent yesterday with a close friend of mine and we were hanging around for a while before we finally decided to go to his place.

Surprisingly, the guy had just bought 2 kittens.

A boy and a girl. Not siblings, just very good friends. The boy (the grey one) would start whining if the girl was "taken" away from him. If we went to another room and brought the girl he would start making a hell of a noise. That's really sweet.

I was surprised to see that they, despite their low age (only a month old I think) were so tidy and clean. They knew what they could do and should not do. They knew where to do what they should do and where not to (this is a peek to the fuckhead I mentioned earlier in this post). These cats did show loyalty and friendship!

So I guess my idea of cats in general has changed, I was overproven. I now regard cats as animals and not freeloaders.

Summer

Summer is here again and it is so beautiful.
