Longer days and shorter nights

It's been a long day filled with numbers, equations, endless computations and too little coffee! I spent 11 hours at campus today, trying to finish a project. I failed but it's OK. I can turn it in tomorrow instead and still make it. I sleep less and work more, hence the title of today's post.

As I was working with a friend I was amazed to see the many different posters/art collections the weirdos at the art department have put up lately. The place is starting to look more like a daycare center instead of a governmental institution for higher education.

Don't get me wrong, I have absolutely nothing against art. My cousin is an artist and she is exceptionally talented. But what the fuck is this?

It irritates me to see how resources are invested in order to provide bohemians with professional (and extremely expensive) environments/equipment. And then what? I still haven't seen a new Pablo Picasso or Dali.

It's hilarious to see some of the artists behind these masterpieces. Some of them act really strange and naturally, that adds to my general prejudice of them. I mean it's so sexy to dress as a 4-year old when you're 25+. I am normally not too interested and engaged in how people dress. I couldn't care less. What I do care about though is how people pay (or actually don't pay) others respect by dressing "properly". I mean you don't dress in hot pants (as a lady of course) when you are to attend a funeral. I know that "properly" is a subjective term and i don't wish to define it any further. But I get annoyed when I see grown up people acting like morons, dressed up as if they were to attend a masquerade, just in order to attract attention and to provoke the common/general establishments of dress codes in professional environments.

And no, I don't mean that everyone should show up in Lyle & Scott sweaters tomorrow morning. But please, grow up, open your eyes and stop making ugly pieces of art.
